Something is broken. Start here.

Emergency IT support, computer repair, network and server faults, data recovery and QuickBooks trouble — for businesses in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Martinsville and across the Southeast. During office hours you get a person, not a ticket form.

1‑855‑OPSWORQ Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Eastern.
Clients on a managed agreement are monitored 24/7. Everyone else, leave a message and say whether it can wait until morning.

You do not have to be a client. Most of the people who call this number are not, and we answer it the same way either way.

What people call about

If one of these is happening, we can help.

  • A computer that will not startWill not boot, a blue or black screen, or it powers on and nothing happens.
  • The network or internet is downNobody can reach the server, the wifi, the shared drive, or the outside world.
  • QuickBooks troubleIt will not open, the company file is damaged, multi-user mode has stopped, or the numbers stopped matching.
  • Files that are goneDeleted, overwritten, on a drive that died, or on a machine nobody can log into.
  • Email that stoppedNot sending, not arriving, or landing in everybody’s spam folder.
  • Something that looks like a virusPop-ups, files renamed, a ransom note, or a machine behaving as though somebody else is driving.
Before you call

If it looks like ransomware, do these four things first.

The first twenty minutes decide how bad the next three weeks are.

  1. Disconnect the machine from the network. Unplug the cable, or turn off the wifi.
  2. Leave it powered on. Evidence, and sometimes the keys themselves, live in memory. Shutting down destroys both.
  3. Do not pay anything, and do not reply to anyone who contacts you about it.
  4. Call your cyber insurer before anyone touches it. Most policies require it, and a claim can be refused if you skip this step.

That is the right sequence whether or not you call us. It is here because most people do the opposite — they turn the machine off, which is the one action that cannot be undone.

What it costs

Published, so you are not wondering.

  • Remote, business hoursBilled in 15-minute increments, with no minimum$150 / hour
  • On site, business hoursOne hour minimum, then 15-minute increments$150 / hour
  • After hours, weekends and holidaysAnd anything you tell us cannot wait$225 / hour
  • Telling you whether we can helpAnd roughly what it will takeNo charge

Fifteen-minute billing is deliberate. A lot of what comes through this number is a twenty-minute fix over a screen share, and charging an hour for it would be dishonest.

We will also tell you when it is not worth doing. If the machine is eight years old and the repair costs more than the replacement, that is what you will hear.

Broken, but not on fire

If it can wait until tomorrow, write it down instead.

Something that has been wrong for a while, something intermittent, or something you have been meaning to ask about. Send it over and we will come back to you.

Afterwards

Most of our clients met us on a bad day.

Somebody calls because a server is down or a laptop died, we fix it, and at some point in the following months they decide they would rather this stopped happening.

That is what OpsWorq Managed IT is: monitoring, patching, security, backup and unlimited support at a flat rate per person, so the failures get caught before anybody notices them. There is no minimum company size.

Most people call about the emergency first and ask about the flat rate later. Either order works.
